So, yesterday morning Mykl had to work inventory at the plant so he had to work at 5 a.m.! Bleck! He works nights so that was a pain in the ass, but I moved to the couch to continue sleeping so I could hear the mail person knock on the door. I've been so anxious waiting for my spinning wheel! And what do you know around 8:45 I get a knock and I jumped up and there it is! My very own spinning wheel! So, I'm obviously awake at this point and I get the box open and the instructions are poorly translated from Dutch, but it's mostly pictures anyway, so I get it all set up and I go to put the footman to treadle connector in the little holes it goes in and it breaks! I was warned that it was old and this could happen. So, now I'm kind of sad because I wanted to jump right in. So, I'm brainstorming for something I can use as a temporary replacement while I'm ordering the actual replacement part, because I don't want to wait another week! Mykl came up with a couple of ingenious ideas! So, we go out and buy some of those click erasers and some glue sticks (yes, for a hot glue gun!). The erasers failed miserably, but guess what?! The glue sticks worked marvelously! So, I've been spinning like crazy! I absolutely love it! I feel like I've already got the basics down! I'm going to do a whole bobbin worth of the Merino wool I have, then I'm going to try the silk I bought! It's really turning out beautifully! I just have to find some extra bobbins now...
